Cormac has thick, curly hair. The main color is dark brown, but he has some lighter streaks that make it seem muddy. He has a characteristic curl that tends to fall right between his eyes.

Cormac has soft, affectionate eyes the color of melted chocolate. It's not a rare thing for anyone to say that his eyes remind them of a puppy; obviously a master of the puppy dog pout.

Cormac has never really been one for flashy, and it shows through his practical choices in clothing. Generally, his just likes to wear a plain t-shirt (his favorite color choices being earthy green and snowy white) and jeans (some of the pairs have holes in the knees or tattered cuffs that he never bothered to patch up). When it's cold outside, his favorite jacket is a muddy brown zip-up hoodie.

Cormac never really outgrew the weakness that babies have for anything that feels soft against their hands, as his sense of touch is extremely acute. He likes to stick to the routine of things and doesn't get bored doing the same things over and over. He likes good food and the company of his family at the dinner table, and he likes the peace he gets when he's drawing.

Obviously, Cormac is not a fellow who enjoys change of any kind. He hates being disturbed, particularly when it's from sleep or his trance-like state when he's sketching something. He's stingy and doesn't like to let anyone borrow his things, and gets irritated when told to hurry up. He's absolutely terrified of dogs, and gets uneasy when he has to sleep in a bed that's not his.

Once Cormac sets his mind to something, woe to anyone who dares get in his way. He's a very quiet lad and usually has very little to say, but he works hard and (usually) without complaint when it comes to homework and chores. He's a tad suspicious when he's confronted with a new situation, and is very cautious and careful when dealing with someone he just met.

Cormac is a full-blooded Carter, making him the son of Regina, older brother of Skylar, younger brother of Josh, twin brother of Keefe, older step-brother of Abby, and the younger step-brother of Lydia. He was attacked by a stray dog when he was about six years old, taking severe damage to his face, neck and arms. The wounds healed over, but the scars stayed behind.

Tortoise - Ozzy

Cormac generally goes by Mac unless he really doesn't have a good feeling about the person he's introducing himself to. He plays basketball on the freshmen high school team, generally serving as a power forward. He's also in the freshmen choir, adding his voice to the bass section. He and Keefe have an almost-telepathic bond. He's also a character of mine in a novel I'm writing, as you'll see in the roleplay example told from Mac's point of view.

“Remind me again whose idea this was?”

There were dumber things to do than wandering out near the Atlantic Ocean when it was almost winter, so I didn’t take much offence to the question. I glanced up at the sky and shrugged. “Mine.”

It wasn’t like it was frigidly cold out or anything. Sure, it probably would’ve been a good idea to bring a jacket or something, but we weren’t going to die of hypothermia, either. The sky was dusty gray, tainted by angry storm clouds that had already started to dump their burden on us. The old buildings, lined up along our right and closed for the season, had seemed interesting when it was dry; but now, with rainwater streaking down their black, vacant windows and tapping at the roofs, were gloomy and a little…well…eerie.

The sea, off to our left, was black and just as furious as the clouds up above. The waves lapped hungrily at the planks, frothing white around them, roaring as if it were a great beast and each raindrop was a bullet in its side. The wood creaked and groaned, unhappy with the pressure being pressed upon it, but held fast nonetheless. Fortunately, there was no thunder or lightning, but the cold rain was enough to make us uncomfortable.

I could taste the salt whipped up from the sea by the harsh wind on my skin; smell it in the air. We were walking the same direction the rain was coming from, keeping the rain from stinging too badly as we tried to find shelter.

A t-shirt and jeans had been a bad choice; the shirt, soaked, clung uncomfortably to my skin and the jeans were soggy and heavy with water. I didn’t complain; this had been my idea, after all. I thought it might be fun, exploring the boardwalk without having all the tourists ruining it for us, but I hadn’t planned on it starting to rain.

This was supposed to be a date. I guess it still was; even with the rain and otherwise crappy conditions, we were still cuddled close, her fingers filling the spaces between mine. We had already eaten, so I guess it could’ve been worse…we could be cold, tired, and hungry.
